Based in Lombard, Illinois, Ms. Spring’s private studio provides instruction in both lever and pedal harp and encompasses a broad age range.
Lever harp is the harp that is traditionally used to start learning how to play the harp. Students begin learning basic rhythms and melodies from the first lesson, as well as instruction on tuning and string changing.
More advanced students are expected to bring a serious work ethic as well as a sense of humor to lessons, where musicality and artistry are more forefront.
Julie’s teaching philosophy centers on the belief that everyone deserves to enjoy and participate in music, regardless of natural affinity or talent.
